Prayer is a partnership with God. When we look to God for a miracle, God looks to us for a response. This week we look at the miracle of feeding the 5000. When the disciples approached Jesus for a solution for a hungry crowd of people, Jesus challenged them to do something about it.
In this week’s sermon we are challenged to live as a child and not an orphan. Using Hebrews 12:7-13 as a checklist, we are encouraged to search our hearts to see if we are living as a child of God or are we slipping in and out of an orphan mindset.
Are you living a called life or are you living a driven life? The difference lies in the condition of the inner life. This week we look at the life of Jacob. There is a distinct contrast between the first part of his life story as the man Jacob and the second half of his life as the patriarch Israel.
Are you living a purposeful life or are you wandering aimlessly? Are you circling or spiralling? Life is a circular movement. In this message we look at the first two generations of the people of Israel. We are encouraged not to circle around a mountain aimlessly but to walk around walls and see them come tumbling down.
More than 80% of the worlds population believe in the existence of God. The unique thing about followers of Christ is that we not only believe in the existence of God but we believe He is a good God and rewards those who diligently seek Him. This message encourages us to go into the new year with an unwavering faith that God is, God is good, and God is good to us. May we remind ourselves of this daily.
Do you know the difference between the temporal and the eternal? Are you investing in the right areas of your life so that you are not caught wanting in the end? This week’s sermon is an important reminder to all of us on how we are to live our lives on earth. We are to pitch tents and build altars. Knowing the difference is critical. The blessings in life are temporal. They are means to an end. Being a blessing to others – that has eternal consequences.
